Shaping and hydrating go hand in hand when it comes to caring for and styling naturally curly hair. Yet, most new clients that come to our salon have never experienced professional curl care. Whether it is dry curl cuts, or curl education for their curl type, most new clients that come to us have dehydrated hair. This happens when they use products are not curl friendly, not for their curl type or their stylist does not understand how to cut
and care for curly hair. Unfortunately, this is something we see all the time. That’s because with curly hair, comes texture. But if you want your curls to look their best, it’s important to keep them hydrated. In fact, hydration is the key to luscious, shiny, beautifully separated curls, waves, spiral, s’waves, zigzag and fractal curl types. For this reason, curl hair care products are primary to keeping your curls hydrated and looking their best.
Shaping & Hydrating: New Curl Client
When this new client came to us, it had been over two years since her last haircut! As we mentioned earlier, most new clients have dehydrated curls.
Again, this happens when they either have their haircut by someone who doesn’t understand how to cut curly hair, or by not using the right products.
There are two lessons we teach our clients: first, embrace your natural curls, and second use natural and organic products to protect and nourish your curly hair.
Whether tight or loose, course or soft, thick or thin. The trick is finding an expert who understands how curls grow, group and respond to different cuts, products and care.
I use advanced curl-cutting techniques used by expert stylists alike, and will teach you how to style and embrace your beautiful naturally curly hair.
